The dream of a 7th grader who wanted to be a rock star - and still does even as the kid turns 50! Music from someone who thinks and feels deeply ... and needs to express it in some constructive way to stay sane. Going it alone when no one else would go with him, Pierce Point is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Rob Coker. Building on decades of being both a musician and an avid fun of Rock music, Coker creates music that is like a perfect baseball pitch, staying just inside the strike zone, drawing on diverse influences to keep it interesting and occasionally going straight down the middle.

Coker's guitar work is technical and elegant, mixing organic and industrial tones, while never losing sight of creating a song, not practicing a guitar exercise. Expressing the deep challenges and joys of real life in such and honest, earthy way makes it easy to miss the lyrical depth of someone who has both studied philosophy at the graduate level and has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. The bass and drums, foundational to the cathedral of rock, add to the complexity, and are elements of beauty in themselves. Listen and hear for yourself!
